Summary:
Rename an interface, deactivate it when it should not run, and reactivate it when it is ready to use again.
Requirements:
- You need access to Interfaces.
- You need Edit interface permission for the interface you want to change.
- The interface must be editable. Some actions are blocked while the interface is queued, running, or stopping.
- To reactivate an interface, your plan must have space for another active interface.
- The source and target apps used by the interface must be active before the interface can be reactivated.
Rename, Deactivate, and Reactivate an Interface
Use these actions when an interface name changes, when an interface should stop being available, or when you want to use it again.
Rename an interface
- Open Interfaces from the sidebar.
- Select Settings for the interface, or open the interface from the list.
- In the interface header, select Edit next to the current name.
- Enter the new name in Title.
- If needed, update Description so other users understand what the interface does.
- Select Save.
Choose a clear name
- Use a name that explains the source, target, or purpose, for example Export new hires to payroll.
- Keep the name short enough to recognize in the Interfaces overview.
- Avoid names such as Test or New interface if several users manage interfaces in the same workspace.
Deactivate an Interface
Deactivate an interface when it should not be run or changed for now.
Deactivate from the overview
- Open Interfaces from the sidebar.
- Find the interface you want to deactivate.
- Make sure the interface is not Queued, Running, or Stopping.
- Select the Deactivate action. This action uses the power button in the row.
- Read the confirmation message.
- Confirm the action.
- BrynQ moves the interface to the Inactive section.
What changes after deactivation
- The interface becomes read-only.
- BrynQ shows a warning when you open the interface: This interface is deactivated. You can only view and not edit it.
- The interface cannot be run while it is deactivated.
- The interface schedule is disabled, so scheduled runs do not continue.
- Logs and existing setup information remain available if you have the right access.
Reactivate an Interface
Reactivate an interface when it should be available again.
Reactivate from the overview
- Open Interfaces from the sidebar.
- Expand Inactive if the inactive interfaces are hidden.
- Find the interface you want to reactivate.
- Select the Activate action. This action uses the power button in the row.
- Read the confirmation message.
- Confirm the action.
- BrynQ moves the interface back to the active interface list.
Reactivate from the interface page
- Open the inactive interface.
- In the warning at the top of the page, select Activate interface.
- If BrynQ asks you to activate required apps, review the apps in the window.
- Select the confirmation checkbox when you agree.
- Select Activate apps.
- BrynQ activates the required apps first and then tries to reactivate the interface again.
After reactivation
- Open the interface and check the setup sections before running it.
- Check Authorization if an app connection has changed while the interface was inactive.
- Check Schedule if the interface should run automatically again.
- Run the interface manually first when you want to confirm that the data flow still works.
Troubleshooting
Use these checks when the name, activation state, or schedule does not change as expected.
You cannot rename the interface
- Check that you have Edit interface permission.
- Check whether the interface is read-only, deactivated, or in a state where changes are blocked.
- Make sure Title has at least 3 characters and no more than 100 characters.
- Keep Description under 255 characters.
You cannot deactivate the interface
- Wait until the interface is no longer Queued, Running, or Stopping.
- Check that you have Edit interface permission.
- Refresh the Interfaces overview if another user changed the interface at the same time.
You cannot reactivate the interface
- Check whether your plan has reached the active interface limit.
- Check whether the source and target apps are active.
- If BrynQ shows an app activation window, activate the required apps before trying again.
- Ask an administrator for help if your plan limit or app access blocks the action.
The schedule did not start again
- Deactivation disables the interface schedule.
- Open Schedule after reactivation.
- Enable or save the schedule again if the interface should run automatically.
- Check Next run in the Interfaces overview to confirm the next planned run.
More Information
Use Deactivate when you want to pause an interface without deleting its setup or logs. Use Activate only after the required apps, permissions, and schedule are ready again.
