Create an Interface from a Template
Summary:
Create a new BrynQ interface by selecting a ready-made template and, when needed, activating the apps used by that template.
Requirements:
- You need the Create interfaces permission.
- Your plan must have space for another interface.
- If the template uses inactive apps, your plan must also have space for the apps you need to activate.
Create an Interface From a Template
Use a template when BrynQ already offers a standard setup for the source app, target app, and data flow you need.
Open the template options
- Open Interfaces from the sidebar.
- Select New interface.
- In the Let's connect some Apps! window, choose Use our templates.
- Select Continue.
- You can also open Interface templates from the sidebar to browse all available templates.
Find the right template
- Use Search templates to search by template name.
- Use Select source app to filter by the app where the data comes from.
- Use Select target app to filter by the app where BrynQ sends the data.
- If you do not search or filter, BrynQ shows Suggested for you templates in the new interface window.
- Open the template card and check Apps used in this template to confirm the source and target apps.
Use a template when all apps are active
- Confirm that the template matches the data flow you want to create.
- Select Use template.
- BrynQ creates the interface and opens the new interface page.
- Continue with the interface setup, such as Authorization, Mapping, Variables, and Schedule, when these sections are required.
Activate inactive apps from a template
- If one or more apps are inactive, the template card shows Activate apps instead of Use template.
- Select Activate apps.
- Review the inactive apps listed in the activation window.
- Read the license cost message.
- Select the confirmation checkbox when you agree to the updated license costs.
- Select Activate apps again.
- BrynQ activates the apps, creates the interface, and opens the new interface page.
Finish the Interface Setup
After the template creates the interface, review the setup before you publish or run it.
Complete required sections
- Open each section that needs attention.
- In Authorization, add or reuse the app connections needed by the interface.
- In Mapping, check that source fields are linked to the correct target fields.
- In Schedule, choose whether the interface should run manually, on a schedule, or after another interface.
- Save your changes before leaving the setup.
Publish when ready
- Select Publish when all required setup parts are complete.
- BrynQ checks the draft before publishing.
- If publishing is blocked, open the section with a warning and complete the missing information.
- After publishing, the version becomes Live and can be used for runs when the interface is active.
Troubleshooting
Use these checks when you cannot create an interface from a template.
You cannot use a template
- Ask an administrator to check that you have Create interfaces permission.
- Check whether your plan has reached the interface limit.
- If Interface limit reached appears, disable or delete an unused interface, or upgrade your plan.
Apps cannot be activated
- If App limit reached appears, your plan does not have space for the inactive apps used by the template.
- Upgrade your plan or ask an administrator for help.
- If an app was activated recently but the template still shows it as inactive, refresh the page and try again.
You cannot find the right template
- Clear the search field and app filters.
- Try filtering by only the source app or only the target app.
- If no template fits your use case, return to New interface and choose Build together with us for a custom interface.
More Information
Activating an app only makes it available for interfaces. You may still need to complete authorization, mapping, and schedule settings before the interface can run.
