Understand FAQs About SLA, Usage, and Platform Terms

Summary:

This article explains in simple language the most important terms related to the use of BrynQ, such as fair use policy, Connections, Apps, Users, Audit Trail, and SSO.

Overview

When using BrynQ you will encounter various terms in your contract, SLA, or price list. Below you’ll find short, clear explanations of these concepts so you know what they mean and how they affect your use of the platform.

Frequently asked questions about usage and SLA

What is our fair use policy?

We apply a fair use policy to keep the platform fair and stable for all customers. In doing so, we look at the number of records your organization processes through BrynQ.

  • We compare your usage to that of other customers.
  • If you process more than twice as many records as our largest other customer, this stands out.
  • In that case, we will proactively contact you.

The goal is to understand what is happening and see whether we can help you process your data more efficiently (for example, through better filters, scheduling, or route configuration).

Note: If your usage is exceptionally high, this may lead to additional agreements or adjustments in your usage or license. We will always discuss this with you first.

What are “Connections”?

A Connection is a link within the BrynQ SaaS platform that connects two or more systems.

  • It is a kind of data path between different software packages or applications.
  • Through a Connection, information is automatically exchanged between these systems.
  • Each separate link counts as one Connection in your setup and, where applicable, in your license.

Examples:

  • A Connection between your HR system and BrynQ.
  • A Connection between BrynQ and your CRM or payroll software.

What is an “App”?

An App is third-party software (an external system) that you connect to BrynQ so it can communicate with other systems.

Examples of Apps you can connect to BrynQ include:

  • Recruitment: Recruitee
  • HR/Finance: AFAS Profit, SAP
  • Productivity and storage: SharePoint
  • Fitness and tracking: Strava
  • Communication: Email (e.g., mail servers or email services)

An App is the system itself (for example AFAS), while a Connection is the technical link that allows data to flow between BrynQ and that App.

What does “User” mean in the price list?

A User is an individual user with an account in BrynQ.

  • Each User has login credentials to access the platform.
  • Depending on the assigned permissions, a User can:
    • Create or manage routes,
    • Configure settings,
    • Manage Apps and Connections,
    • or perform other tasks within BrynQ.
  • The price list shows for each bundle or license type how many Users are included.

The number of Users therefore determines how many people in your organization can have their own account in BrynQ at the same time.

What is an “Audit Trail”?

An Audit Trail is a security-relevant log that precisely records what happens in the platform.

The Audit Trail records, among other things:

  • Which actions were performed (for example, changing settings or routes),
  • By which user these actions were performed,
  • When (date and time) this happened,
  • Which components or data were involved.

The Audit Trail is important for:

  • Compliance: proving what happened during audits or inspections.
  • Security: detecting unauthorized changes or access.
  • Troubleshooting: finding out more quickly why a process or connection is not working as expected.
Note: The Audit Trail may contain sensitive information about user actions. Make sure that only authorized persons have access to these log entries.

What does “SSO” (Single Sign-On) mean?

SSO stands for Single Sign-On. This is a way of logging in that allows a user to access multiple applications with one set of login credentials.

  • The user logs in once, for example in the central company environment (Identity Provider).
  • After that, the user can automatically open BrynQ and other connected applications, without having to log in again.

Benefits of SSO:

  • Ease of use: fewer passwords to remember and fewer logins.
  • Increased security: less need to reuse or write down passwords.
  • Central control: IT administrators can centrally manage who has access to BrynQ and other systems.

Procedure:

  1. Decide which term (for example, fair use, Connection, App, User, Audit Trail, or SSO) you want to understand better.
  2. Find the corresponding section in this article.
  3. Read the explanation and examples to see how this term is used in BrynQ.
  4. Check your contract, SLA, and price list to see which quantities (Users, Apps, Connections) and options (e.g., SSO) apply to your organization.
  5. If anything is unclear, contact your internal BrynQ administrator or BrynQ Support for further clarification.

Other Information:

  • Combination of terms: A User can manage multiple Apps and Connections within BrynQ. The Audit Trail records which User performed which actions.
  • License planning: When planning your license, take into account:
    • The estimated number of Users actively working with BrynQ,
    • The number of external systems (Apps) you want to connect,
    • The number of Connections needed to automate your processes.
  • Security and governance: Combine SSO and Audit Trail for better control over who does what in BrynQ and to make this demonstrable during audits.
