Users can upload files into SalureConnect. These files can then be used in dashboards or forwarded to external systems. This article describes how the File Upload functionality is set up.

A user cannot upload files until a definition exists. A definition describes the minimum requirements that the file to be uploaded must meet. Sometimes the file does not have to meet anything except that it is an Excel file or a PDF. Sometimes the file is also checked for content and whether certain columns are in the file. The SalureConnect administrator can create as many definitions as desired. This can be done in the following way:
Navigate to Settings > General > File Upload;
Click the "Add Definition" button at the top right;
Give the definition a recognizable name so the user knows what the definition means. For example, "Monthly payroll files region South."
Include a description. Users can get additional information from this if the name is not clear enough;
Now choose the "Definition" type. There are currently 2 types: "Payroll Files" and "General". The type "Payroll Files" is explained separately in the article "Payroll definition". Briefly, this type checks for file contents and also adds exchange rates to data. Choose this type only when specifically uploading Payroll Files. Choose type "General" in all other cases;
Save the definition.
Content control
There may be a need to check the files to be uploaded for content. For example, to check whether the column "Amount paid" is actually present. This data can then be loaded into a dashboard, for example. It is important that files are correct and complete.
To enable the content check, the user must edit the definition just created by clicking on the pencil icon;
Go to the "Columns" tab;
Now add as many columns as desired. If a column named "Amount" is added, then while uploading a file, it will check if there is actually a column named "Amount" in the file;
