Qlik Sense Backup

The use of dashboards in Qlik Sense is not described in this KB. For that, see https://help.qlik.com. 

Through BrynQ, however, it is possible to (1) restore (backup) an old version of a dashboard or (2) reload dashboards from Qlik Sense.

For both cases, to start, go to Settings (the cog in the lower left corner) > Dashboards > Backups. You will then see a table like the one below.

Back-up

All apps in Qlik Sense are automatically backed up every 24 hours. These backups are kept for 3 months. If a user accidentally deletes an app or edits it incorrectly and no longer has its history, it is possible to restore an earlier version of the app via the backups. To do so, take the following steps:

1. In the table, locate the app in question to be restored, click on the 3 dots and click on the little eye ('view backups') on the far right.
2. Based on the time, find the backup you want and click 'restore';
3. The app will be restored with all code and visualizations. Note that the data that was loaded into the app is not saved as it can be retrieved again with a simple reload;
4. The app can be found in Qlik Sense in the personal work stream.
