Prepare Apps before Creating an Interface

Prepare Apps before Creating an Interface

Summary:
Prepare the source and target apps you need before you create an interface in BrynQ.

Requirements:
- You need access to Apps in BrynQ. - Your plan must have space for more active apps if you need to activate a new app.

Prepare Apps Before Creating an Interface

An interface can use an app only when that app is active for your workspace.

Check which apps you need

  • Decide which app will be the source app. This is the app where the data comes from.
  • Decide which app will be the target app. This is the app where BrynQ sends the data.
  • If you use a template, check which source and target apps the template needs.
  • If you are not sure which app to choose, check the interface request or contact BrynQ support before you continue.

Open the Apps page

  • Open Apps from the sidebar.
  • Use Search apps by name to find the source app and target app.
  • Check whether each app is listed under Active apps or Inactive apps.
  • Apps under Active apps are ready to select when you create an interface.
  • Apps under Inactive apps must be activated first.

Activate an inactive app

  • Find the app under Inactive apps.
  • Select Activate.
  • If BrynQ shows a confirmation, read the license cost message.
  • Select the confirmation checkbox if you agree.
  • Select Activate apps to finish.
  • Wait until the app moves to Active apps.

If activation is blocked

  • If the Activate button is disabled, your plan may have reached the maximum number of active apps.
  • Use Upgrade plan when BrynQ shows an app limit warning.
  • If the app is not listed, it may not be available for your workspace yet.
  • Contact BrynQ support if you need an app that is missing or cannot be activated.

Continue With Your Interface

After the apps are active, you can create the interface and connect the apps in the setup.

Create the interface

  • Open Interfaces.
  • Select New interface.
  • Choose Use our templates or Build together with us.
  • Select the active source app and target app when BrynQ asks for them.
  • Continue with the setup steps for your interface type.

Complete app connections later

  • Activating an app makes it available for interfaces.
  • Activating an app does not create an authorization, connection, mapping, schedule, or data run by itself.
  • Complete Authorization in the interface setup when BrynQ asks you to connect to the app.
  • Publish and run the interface only after the required setup is complete.

Troubleshooting

Use these checks when an app is not ready for a new interface.

The app is inactive

  • Open Apps and activate the app first.
  • Return to the interface setup after activation.
  • Use Refresh list in the app picker if the interface setup still shows the old app state.

The app is already used

  • Active app cards can show labels such as Used in 1 interface or Used in 3 interfaces.
  • You can still use an active app in another interface when your plan allows it.
  • Do not deactivate an app that is already used by an interface unless you are sure it is no longer needed.

More Information Prepare both apps before you start the interface setup. This avoids interruptions while choosing the source, target, authorization, and mapping.
