Nmbrs Authorization Guide: Setting up and Adding credentials in BrynQ

Detailed documentation about Nmbrs API and authorization can be found here. However, this documentation is largely aimed at developers.

Note: Deprecation warning
Most documenation native to Nmbrs is outdated, as Nmbrs will migrate march 2027 to a new authorization protocol.
Anything concerning SOAP apis and tokens generated inside of Nmbrs are not relevant as they are not supported by BrynQ.

This includes the sandbox environment.

Step 1: Setting up 'Demo' testing companies in Nmbrs.

Nmbrs does not support a sandbox environment anymore. 

Therefore, dedicated testing companies should be created and used during development and testing, not sandbox.

Step 2: Nmbrs intergration user: create a login in Nmbrs (for managing the nmbrs authorization Company level)

Please follow point 1,2,3 of section "How to add an API token to an (existing) user account?"

Ignore the comment about the Sandbox. There is no sandbox.

Ignore point 4 "Add an API token" , only follow the creation of the user + the company filter.

The created login will be referred to as the "Nmbrs intergration user" henceforth.

Step 3: Set up Nmbrs Authorization in BrynQ at Debtor level.

Watch the video below to connect Nmbrs in brynq. Make sure you are logging in with the Nmbrs intergration user - this user contains the company level filter.

General remarks:

- Company level access is set up inside of numbers using a filter on the user, see step 2.

- Debtor level access is set up using the Oauth popup - you select the radiobuttons of debtors - see step 3.

- Debtor level access can only be given to which the user already has access to the right debtors in Nmbrs itself.

- sandbox is not supported by nmbrs

- API tokens are not supported.

- only oauth is supported - see What is Oauth.

- BrynQ can only confirm the right authorization is set up by checking which data is coming in. We can not verify your setup or debug the setup of debtors, companies and user accounts in Nmbrs itself. Please consult the Nmbrs support for this.
