Complete Template Configuration
Summary:
Complete the setup of a BrynQ template interface by filling in the required tabs, checking the draft, and publishing it when it is ready.
Requirements:
- You need access to Interfaces.
- You need permission to edit and publish the interface.
- The template interface must already be created.
- The source and target apps must be active before the interface can run.
Complete Template Configuration
Use this guide after you have selected a template and BrynQ has created the interface draft.
Open the draft
- Open Interfaces or Setups from the sidebar.
- Select the template interface you want to finish.
- If the interface already has a live version, select Show draft or Create draft before editing.
- Check the tabs shown on the interface page. A template interface can include Configuration, Scenarios, Data filters, Authorization, Mapping, Variables, and Schedule.
- If a tab is not visible, it is not needed for this template or you do not have access to it.
Complete the Configuration tab
- Open Configuration.
- Fill in each required field marked with an asterisk.
- Follow any tooltip or helper text shown next to a field.
- Depending on the template, fields can be text, email, number, rich text, date, selection, or attachment fields.
- BrynQ saves valid changes automatically. Wait until the save indicator shows that your changes are saved before you leave the page.
Complete the Scenarios tab
- Open Scenarios.
- Select each scenario in the scenario list.
- Check the Source, Target, Logic, Mapping, and Unique settings.
- Fill in missing required values and fix any warning shown inside the scenario.
- Add Additional comments when BrynQ needs extra context for the scenario.
- BrynQ saves valid scenario changes automatically.
Complete Data filters
- Open Data filters when the tab is available.
- Add filter rules only when the interface should process part of the source data.
- Choose the field, operator, and value for each rule.
- Use groups when you need more than one condition.
- Select Save after changing data filters.
Complete Authorization
- Open Authorization.
- Add or reuse the required source app connection.
- Add or reuse the required target app connection when the template needs one.
- Check each environment shown on the page, such as Live, Test, or Accept.
- If BrynQ shows that authorization is incomplete, open the connection and complete the missing steps.
Check Mapping and Variables
- Open Mapping.
- Check that source fields are linked to the correct target fields.
- If the template requires mapping confirmation, confirm the mapping only when the data is correct.
- Open Variables when the tab is available.
- Check the variable name, description, and default value.
- Leave optional variables empty only when the interface can run without them.
Set the Schedule
- Open Schedule.
- Choose whether the interface should run manually, on a time schedule, or after another interface.
- If authorization is incomplete, BrynQ can block schedule activation until the connection is ready.
- Check the timezone and next run information before publishing.
- BrynQ saves valid schedule changes automatically.
Publish the Template Interface
Publish the draft only when all required setup parts are complete.
Review the draft
- Check that no tab shows a warning.
- Check that the save indicator does not show unsaved changes.
- Run through the required tabs one last time: Configuration, Scenarios, Data filters, Authorization, Mapping, Variables, and Schedule.
- Select Continue later if you are not ready to publish.
Publish the draft
- Select Publish.
- Read the confirmation message.
- Confirm that you want to publish the draft.
- BrynQ validates the draft before publishing.
- After publishing, the version becomes Live.
Troubleshooting
Use these checks when the template interface cannot be published or used.
Publish is disabled
- Complete every tab that shows a warning.
- Wait until autosave has finished.
- Check that Authorization is complete.
- Check that required Configuration, Scenarios, and Mapping details are filled in.
- If the interface is deactivated or read-only, ask an administrator for help.
Schedule cannot be activated
- Complete Authorization first.
- Check that the source and target apps are active.
- Check the selected schedule type and timezone.
- Save or wait for autosave, then try again.
Changes cannot be edited
- A Live version is read-only. Select Create draft before making changes.
- If a draft already exists, select Show draft.
- If the interface is inactive or under development, some changes may be blocked.
More Information
Most template setup tabs save automatically, but Data filters must be saved with Save. If the interface already has an active schedule, publishing a new draft can affect the next run.
